Elegant Thank You

This little set from Stampnin' Up! is amazing.  I have made many thank you notes with it.  Today I would like to share with you a design I saw on someone's blog, it uses that stamp set along with Priceless, a little ds paper, one that I received as a hostess prize.  I used the corner punch and stamped the words in the same color as the cardstock.  Today's are rose red and brocade blue.  

I hope you enjoy- try using a simple stamp, and then adding designer series paper with a punch of some sort.  The template is straight forward - and the variety of designs you could come up with is endless. 

Herbal Expressions

Love those Purses- this one is a Big Shot

This was such a fun project.  You have to use the Big Shot Die - Top Note.  I will be having a "Big Shot" party in September.  I hope you can come.  It will give you a chance to make some projects using the BIG SHOT.  I did not purchase it when it first came out, and now that I have,  I just love it.  I made little doilies for our daughter's wedding.  Then filled little white pails with M & M's ( her grandpa use to give them at Christmas), added a love charm, and pink ribbon.  I will share a picture of it tomorrow

....but now back to the purse. I used the new colors, and RazzleDazzle designer papers.  I am using this project at my next workshop.  I think everyone will ejoy it. 

 

Greenhouse Garden - card

So, after playing with this stamp set - I made this card.  It will be one of the cards we will make at  the August Stamp-A-Stack.  This again is pale plum and perfect plum.  I am sending it to one of my dear friends who happens to be having a rough year.  I hope it cheers her up.

Adding Details

You know how you start a project then think, well I should have added this, or that?  Well that is exactly what happened to me while using the new Greenhouse Garden stamp set.  I first started to play with the two-step process- then jumped into just stamping the designs on whisper white card stock that I had run through the Sizzix Big Shot - with the textured background.  I thought the white dotted swiss was great with the purples. (that part may not show up in the photo) It gave the flowers a unique look.  Second, I wanted to make a bookmark, which I did and posted.  But when I woke up this AM (very early-like 3:30 ) I just was not happy with the plain top of the bookmark.  So I added textured perfect plum cardstock, and a little saying " Just because I care" in white craft ink.  Now, I do like this project a whole lot better - adding a layer and some texture made the difference. I know a very special friend who will receive it this week.

Just because I care-  I am so happy with this bookmark (sorry, I should wait for someone else to say it is nice- ) My husband did like it, and he is usually brutally honest with me.!!  I was not going to order this set but I thought I would like a new flower set- especially this two-step one.  The colors I used are Perfect Plum and Pale Plum in the Soft Subtle color family.  Then I added Mellow Moss for the stems.  If you don't own the set, why not come to my August Stamp a Stack on Wednesday the 12th, it will be included in the cards we make.  Call to reserve your supplies.

Color Combinations

Have you ever struggled with what colors to use in your project?  So many times this is what prevents my project from going forward quickly.  Sometimes I just try the colors I like, but many times I refer to color combination charts.  I often think - "I would never use those combinations, but when I do, they work."  Sooooo- this link will lead you to some color combinations for the new Stampin' Up! colors - soft suede, dusty durango, crushed curry, melon mambo, rich razzleberry, and bermuda bay.
